Winter and Ski Lodge Bachelorette Party

Winter and Ski Lodge Bachelorette Party

When I was maid of honor in 2019 for my best friend’s wedding she requested a winter and ski lodge bachelorette party. Most of the girls were in the Pittsburgh area so the most affordable way to do this was in the Laurel Mountains of Western Pennsylvania. We decided on staying at mountain condo at Seven Springs Mountain Resort and booked our stay through VRBO.

The bride was adamant that she wanted us in flannels but she did not want us to look like lumberjacks. In other words, the red and black flannel vibe was OFF LIMITS. Instead we opted for our bride to be in a white flannel and the rest of us to be in a muted gray flannel. We really made our bride pop with a white beanie with poms poms! For the rest of the girls, we opted for a pink beanie that matched some of the minor colors in the flannel. These bachelorette looks came together for under $20. While the exact flannels we wore are no longer available, you can find similar ones linked in the photos and within the text of this post.

Ski Theme Bachelorette Decorations

Since we weren’t picky on the look and feel of our rental, we knew we had to really step it up for the bachelorette party decorations. I used a mix of custom printed decor and standard bachelorette themed balloon packages from amazon. When it came to the custom items, I had the most fun with the vintage-looking ski posters and the groom-on-a-stick. You can create both of these FOR FREE! I used a free online design app for the posters and had them printed at FedEx. The poster template that I used was for a concert, so I used the line up section to list out our bachelorette party schedule for the weekend.

You can get pre-made groom-on-a-stick items like this one on Etsy. However, you really don’t need to spend that much on this. I printed 15 copies of our groom’s head at work for free. Then, I pasted them onto a poster board, cut them out, and taped them to some popsicle sticks.

To fill the space with balloons and other decor I purchased the following from Amazon:

Balloons for an Arch (we didn’t make the arch, but we used them around the rental)

SNOW IN LOVE Balloon Sign to hang

Engagement Ring Balloons

Ski Lodge Bachelorette Itinerary

We spent most of this ski weekend hanging out at the Lodge. Since a majority of the girls attending the bachelorette weekend didn’t ski, we didn’t make an organized effort to take to the slopes. Not skiing helped keep our costs down significantly. However, that meant we spent most of the time partying at the Foggy Goggle and eating!

For a 2-night Bachelorette Party, I have found that it’s usually to have one ‘party night’ and one more laid back night. Since we went up for the weekend on a Friday afternoon after a long work week, we opted for Friday’s plans to include a fancy dinner and some wedding-themed games back at our rental. This included a panty exchange and a lingerie gifting to the bride. Each bridesmaid brought 1 panty for an exchange and 1 lingerie gift for the bride. We made a game out of this by having the bride guess who brought which piece of lingerie for her. She guessed all of them correctly!

For Day 2, we got all dressed up in our flannel bachelorette party uniforms and made our way to the lodge for a day of winter festivities. We had hoped to spend 1 hour snow tubing, but due to the warm conditions at the time, it wasn’t possible.

We made excellent use of a shot ski on Day 2, also! We had a friend custom make one with the bride’s new last name, but there are plenty of great vendors on Etsy who sell them personalized. If you are looking for just a standard shot ski for your winter bachelorette celebration check out this one on Amazon!

For the remainder of Day 2 we hung out in the lodge and the infamous Foggy Goggle at Seven Springs. In the evenings there is usually live music or a DJ to keep the apres ski crowd entertained into the evening!
